Tilshead Borehole Levels: 14th March 2021

An interesting week of weather with what seemed like a lot of rain and some nasty high winds.  Despite this, the progress of the water level in the aquifer has been steadily downwards.  There might be a slight slowing of the rate of fall, or even a slight uptick, over the next couple of days, but I’m a little doubtful; Spring is getting fully underway.

After a nice sunny start today, we might get a little drizzle later in the afternoon.  Tomorrow is likely to be mainly dry with a slight chance of a shower.  More showers are possible on Tuesday, with Wednesday being nice and dry.  Heavier rain is likely to turn up by the end of the week, although the weekend and the following week could be somewhat drier.  The weather towards the end of the month seems likely to become much colder here in Wiltshire, but drier and more settled.  Early April is likely to see a return to weather and temperatures more typical of the time of year.
