    Richard Watts

We would like to request the help of Winterbourne Stoke Parishioners regarding Wiltshire Council’s plans, (in association with the Woodland Trust & Landmarc), to plant trees in 2018 to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1 and those who served. They are requesting suggested sites from communities as to possible sites where trees could be planted ranging from one or two trees right through to a small copse.

    Wiltshire Council’s Project overview
The aim of this project is to deliver a legacy to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War. We are inviting local communities to plant trees across the county and want to encourage schools, community groups and organisations to participate in the initiative.
Whilst 10,000 soldiers from Wiltshire lost their lives during the war, many more came home and carried on with their lives. The aim is to create a legacy to remember everyone that served during the war and plant as many trees as possible.

We apologize for the short notice, but we are looking for recommendations for suggested sites by mid November 2017, so if you can think of a suitable area / location in or around Winterbourne Stoke, please respond in this forum or contact one of the Parish Councillors. Thank you.

I have put a presentation and the project overview from Wiltshire Council in the Notices section.
