Tilshead Borehole Levels: 1st March 2019

Today, meteorologically speaking at least, is the first day of Spring.  I have to confess that I don’t really believe we have had much of a Winter this year, it has been so warm.  It’s also been fairly dry and only 1mm of rain last week to add to the February total.  The water level in the borehole is hovering roughly midway between the 6-year average and the latest Spring we have seen over the last 6 years.

We can expect some rain overnight tonight, with drizzle tomorrow and rain continuing from Sunday to Tuesday as Storm Freya blows in. There may be a second spell of rain towards the end of the week.  There is the possibility of more rain towards the middle of the month, but getting drier towards the end.  Oh yes, there is still a faint chance of snow here on the Plain…
