Despite a fair bit of rain over the last week, with lots of surface water, the rate of rise in the aquifer has fallen to a com[lete standstill. It shows appearances can be deceptive. We are just over halway through the month and the total rainfall is about average for the whole month. If the rest of the month is dry, then it will turn out to be a very average month after all. A lot more rain and we will start to creep up towards the 2013-2014 high point.
There may be a little light rain or drizzle over the weekend, but little prospect of heavy rain in the sort term. We do expect a return to colder weather from Tuesday onwards. In just over a weeks time, there is a remote possibility of some heavy snow, with more cold weather to come, before things turn really wet towards the end of March.
