The Christmas week has gone well and we have had relatively little rain, but lots of mist. The combination has meant that small quantities of water have been entering the aquifer and the level has been rising slowly, but steadily. Today, it is very much on a par with the level at the same time last year, but well below average for the 4 years for which we have data.
We have some light rain forecast for the weekend. The first two weeks of January are likely to be a bit wetter than recent weather, but more dry and very cold weather is being forecast for the end of the month. All in all, we are not expecting levels to rise significantly.
