At the recent Parish Council meeting our Clerk, Jim Carr, announced his intention to resign with immediate effect. This was subsequently followed by a formal written resignation which was accepted by the Councillors.
The Councillors wish to put on record their thanks for the sterling performance that Jim put in as Clerk over 17 years, through thick and thin. His knowledge of procedure has helped several recent iterations of the Parish Council unravel a raft of issues and his behind-the-scenes activities have ensured the smooth running of the Council’s day-to-day business.
Winterbourne Stoke Parish Council will be seeking to identify and appoint a permanent Clerk and the position will be advertised locally and county-wide in the near future. To ensure that administrative functions can continue, the Parish Council may bring in a locum as a short-term expedient.
